OnePlus 10 Pro vs Google Pixel 6 Pro: Your phone options compared

OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 10 Pro shortly after CES. It will be available in China only from mid-January. Today, OnePlus revealed a wider launch of the device. Pre-orders are now open in the USA and Canada, with sales beginning on April 14.

The device has been with us for one week. ZDNet will provide a detailed review next week. The device will be available in North America as Volcanic Black or Emerald Forest, with an 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory option for $899US and $1149CAD. For testing, we have the Volcanic Black North American version in stock.

The $899 US price makes the Google Pixel 6 Pro the most obvious flagship competitor. We will offer feedback on which device you prefer, depending on your priorities.

Android smartphone owners may also consider the Galaxy S22+ starting at $999.99, or the S22 Util starting at $1,099.99. The Samsung smartphones are powerful and packed with useful features. However, the OnePlus 10 Pro and Google Pixel 6 Pro are more appealing to tech-savvy smartphone enthusiasts who prefer a stock Android experience.

Why choose the OnePlus 10 Pro

After spending a few weeks with the Google Pixel 6 Pro, I returned it due to poor cellular reception, poor battery life, slow charging, and a terrible fingerprint sensor. Google has fixed some of these issues, but they also have issues with other updates. The inconsistency with managing a new phone using the first Google Tensor processor has made it difficult for me to get work done. My needs are not being met by poor Wi-Fi or cellular performance.

In my testing, OnePlus and Samsung were the most reliable in cellular performance. This is also true for the OnePlus 10 Pro. The commuter train runs along tracks near the outskirts, and the OnePlus 10 Pro has stayed connected throughout my commute with solid speed.

Although it’s only been a week, my battery life is much better than what I’ve seen in OnePlus phones for quite some time. The North American model comes with a 65W charger, and a USB-C cable. This allows you to quickly charge your phone. The OnePlus 10 Pro supports wireless charging at 50W and power sharing.

The powerful and highly capable software makes it easy to understand the camera features of the OnePlus 10 Pro. The Google Pixel 6 Pro is the best choice for point-and-shoot results. OnePlus is focused upon true color support and creativity. The cameras can capture 10-bit color, LOG Movie mode and extreme 150-degree or fisheye wide-angle lenses, tilt-shift and XPan mode.

Why choose the Google Pixel 6 Pro instead?

The camera software and Android Updates are the two main reasons you should choose the Pixel 6 Pro. Although Google’s camera control software isn’t as extensive as OnePlus’s, it does offer more options and modes than OnePlus. However, Google has perfected the software algorithms and AI in its cameras so that you can get excellent point-and shoot results. The Pixel 6 Pro is best for you if you only use your phone for that purpose.

Google Pixel 6 Pro

The battle of Pro phones is on: The Google Pixel 6 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro. Both smartphones have features that will enhance your day and help you in your professional endeavors. The cameras are the main focus of both smartphones’ exterior designs. This means that you can expect the best mobile photography from them.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is the best option if you are…

You are looking for fun and innovative camera features

Google Pixel is known for its outstanding computational photography. The 6 Pro’s camera has no less. The Pixel 6 Pro is an upgrade to the discontinued Google Pixel 5. It features three new lense and a 4X optical zoom. The Pixel phone line now features a distinctive visor design that houses the new sensors.

The Pixel 6 Pro’s most notable camera feature is Motion Mode. This allows users to take clear photos of moving objects, something that would normally require a tripod. Motion Mode also includes an “Action Pan”, which allows you to increase the shutter speed and capture fast moving subjects such as subways and cars. You can also choose “Long Exposure”, which, just like Action Pan, blurs the background to give it a professional look.

Magic Eraser is another useful and innovative feature. Magic Eraser, which works in the same way as Photoshop’s Content Aware Filter, allows you to remove unwanted objects from photos. The feature works by simply circling the objects you want to remove from an image. This can be for strangers, stain marks or signage. The image will look perfect when it is done right.

You need a larger battery

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is the winner in the endurance race, despite the fact that Apple’s iPhones have seen significant battery life improvements since their early days. The Pixel 6 Pro’s 5,003mAh battery can last for a full day, compared to the iPhone’s 3,095. Google claims that the 6 Pro can play YouTube videos for up to 9 hours on a single charge. This is similar to our own experience. The Pixel also supports USB-C fast Charging, which is a standardised method of charging that is more reliable than Apple’s Lightning port.
